4x4 overland preparation workshop needs self employed flexible, part-time assistant/mechanic. Matlock area (Derbyshire)
Please take a look at the overland and gallery pictures on my website (www.mattsavage.com) to get an idea of the work that is carried out. The job will involve general servicing and repair, changing clutch/gearbox, body repair, diagnosing vehicle problems, etc as well as all normal maintenance to vehicles. In addition to this, projects will involve fitting equipment to vehicles, fabricating all sorts of things (welding & wood work), strengthening and modifying new equipment and fittings. Oh, and boring things like tidying up, sorting stuff out etc!
A knowledge of Land Rovers and any other 4x4 vehicles is handy, but not essential.
I'm looking for someone with good imagination, ability to problem solve and good technical knowledge of vehicles, with experience of repairing and modifying vehicles. Preferably self employed.
I need someone for about 15 hours a week, mornings would be best. The amount of hours will depend purely on workload. Some weeks it might be more, some weeks it might be less.
